ADVENTURE TIME: BEGINNING OF THE END #1 features a wraparound main cover by Victoria Maderna (Adventure Time), along with variant covers by Diigii Daguna (Adventure Time Comics) and connecting variant covers by Corey Booth (Over The Garden Wall).

“ADVENTURE TIME: BEGINNING OF THE END celebrates the show, the comic, and all the fans who helped us deliver some of the most entertaining all-ages stories of the last ten years,” said Whitney Leopard, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Back in 2012, when we launched our first Adventure Time series, we wanted to create stories for kids that didn’t pander to its readers and could be enjoyed by all. After more than a hundred comics, multiple series and graphic novels, and numerous awards, Adventure Time – and so many comics since then – have shown that not only do kids remain the most important new readers, they are huge fans of comics. It’s been our pleasure, and will continue to be our goal in KaBOOM! to create content that is truly for all-ages.”

Agents of SHIELD Renewed for Sixth Season

ABC has renewed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a sixth season.

According to TVLine, Season 6 will air during the 2018-19 season with 13 episodes, down from its usual 22 episode count. At the time of writing, it is unclear if this will be the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

This week, the show heads into its Season 5 finale, which pits Phil Coulson and his team against insurmountable odds. They will face off with the powerful Graviton, who is destined to tear the Earth apart in his quest for more gravitonium. In February, executive producer Jed Whedon revealed the episode had been written as a series ender, in the event the show wasn’t renewed: “Yeah, we’re ready for if this is the end. We’re definitely going to make it rewarding either way.”
Just last week, ABC cancelled Inhumans, the network’s other Marvel series. Like InhumansS.H.I.E.L.D. hasn’t been a hit in the ratings. In fact, after debuting to nearly twelve million viewers, S.H.I.E.L.D. has since found itself struggling to maintain 3 million live viewers over its past few seasons. However, while it isn’t a great performer in the live ratings, the show tends to do well in delayed viewership.
During S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s panel at WonderCon, Whedon also teased that Marvel’s latest film Avengers: Infinity War would “open up a whole new playground” for the show. “The thing that we love about what our show has become is, the movies sort of blaze a path. Doctor Strange introduced magic, all of a sudden we could have Ghost Rider on our show. We’re just waiting for that movie to come out, so it can open up a whole new playground for us.” Now, it seems the series will have the opportunity to explore Infinity War‘s fallout in Season 6.
Airing Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Ian De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley and Elizabeth Henstridge.

Nightwing Director Swats Down That Zac Efron Rumor

News about the Nightwing film has been hard to come by, but the director took a moment to shoot down a rumor that had been circling the internet.
According to Chris McKay, Zac Efron has not been cast as Dick Grayson. Some had been saying that he was given the titular role, even despite the fact that very little work has been done on the film over the last few months.

Venom #1 Contains A ‘Secret Thing’ Donny Cates Says Nobody Will Ever Find

Marvel’s new volume of Venom from writer Donny Cates and artist Ryan Stegman introduced an all-new backstory for the alien symbiotes, adding more depth and mystery to the antihero for its 30th anniversary. Apparently, the title’s first issue is filled with so much mystery that Cates and Stegman hid something inside that only the two of them know about.
Cates made this revelation on his Twitter account, with the message, “There is a secret thing in VENOM #1 that literally ONLY @RyanStegman and I know. No one else knows this thing. And no one else ever will.”
